Job Purpose:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for processing Daily, Weekly and Monthly accounting of Nexus Energy Services (NES). NES, a subsidiary of Coen Oil Company, LLC, is a field service company engaged in the business of selling and servicing fuel pumps and POS systems, as well as constructing fuel dispensing systems including the installation of tanks, lines, pumps, and related equipment. Day-to-day accounting functions of this role include assisting with AR, AP, inventory, balance sheet reconciliations, and communications with NES operations team.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Perform duties to support the Daily, Weekly and Monthly accounting of NES. Specifically;
- Daily -oversee AR billing and payment application, support collection of outstanding AR balances
- Daily - inventory accounting, review for negative or zero stocks, and oversee inventory count procedures
- Daily - job cost accounting and analysis of profitability of projects
- Daily - Collaborate with General Manager and Service Technicians to monitor project status and billings
- Daily – Implement Global Edge as the new Nexus Energy Services ERP system
- Weekly/monthly - general accounting journal entry creation and/or review
- Weekly/monthly - job cost accounting and analysis of profitability of projects
- Monthly - support finance and accounting department in closing NES monthly financials
- Support the month end close process to ensure the timely and accurate preparation and recording of transactions.
- Analysis to ensure the completeness and accuracy of transactions
- Prepare journal entries with appropriate and transparent support
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Actively and continuously seek opportunities to identify and implement process improvements.
- Obtain an in depth understanding of key business processes
- Seek methods and approaches to automate processes and improve methods to retrieve and manage data
- Look for and provide solutions for accounting irregularities
- Tax accounting support as needed
- Help lead the implementation of a new ERP Accounting system and processes
- All other duties as assigned to support the Finance and Accounting department
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- CPA preferred but not required
- Experience with job cost accounting
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Strong Excel and computer skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Possess good analytical skills with attention to detail
- Able to interact with vendors and internal team members with strong professional integrity and adaptability
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Preferred: Experienced with the use of or implementation of ERP systems
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, including background check, & drug screen.
